These are my favorite resources for helping you grow your business online.
Tools to Build Your Audience
To build your audience of potential customers, you need an online presence. You’ll need…
- a solid website
- an active email list
- active social media accounts
A solid website is key to helping you develop your brand and build your credibility.
When you own your own domain (like scottallancole.com) you need a site host to store the files.
Bluehost website hosting; Bluehost is affordable and offers excellent customer service. I’ve been using Bluehost since 2008!
WordPress is the #1 website publishing platform. There are lots of free and paid templates available, and you have endless freedom to tweak your website recipe. You can install WordPress into your hosting account at Bluehost.
Once you’ve got WordPress installed (it takes just a few minutes), your next step is to find yourself a good theme with which to build your website.
Avada Theme is the theme I use for this website. This is by far the best website theme I’ve ever used.
The Thesis Theme for WordPress offers drag and drop WordPress themes. Recommended for more tech savvy appraisers!
Email Mailing List Tools
Email lists are a great tool for letting your favorite customers know about exciting new developments in your business.
Aweber is the email service provider I use for my businesses.
Designs For Your Marketing Materials
Another key to developing your brand is your marketing materials. Start with creating a logo and then incorporate that into your business cards, letterhead, corporate folder, etc.
Designmantic.com is where I created my logo for this website and a few others. I then also used it to design my business cards, and some of the letterhead I’ve used.
Printing Services for Your Marketing Materials
Once you have your logo, cards, letterhead and other items designed, you’ll need a printer.
Vistaprint is the printing business I now use exclusively for all my printing needs. They also produce a wide variety of other marketing products, from coffee mugs to T-shirts. It’s inexpensive and the service is great!
